Country Rose Prints And Quaint Tea Cups For A ‘Sweet Tea’ Wall Quilt

Country Rose Prints and Teacups.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, country rose fabric and quaint vintage teacups, this ‘Sweet Tea’ wall quilt quickly becomes the feature of the room. Feature favorite romantic rose prints and country florals in flying geese stars, while the pattern center’s around blocks of individual teacups.

Gather up a mix of diagonal plaids, pink check, pink and green floral, dark and light pink florals, or in colors of your choice. The pattern requires sixteen 5″ squares, fussy cut over the tea cup motif, which you can cut from the Lakehouse Sausalito Cottage Teacups panel, available from here. Get started with the teacups prints (available in Periwinkel) to color coordinate florals and ginghams for the star blocks. Or use a favourite teacups print to fussy cut.

Once fabric pieces are cut, designer Holly Holderman suggests, before you begin to sew, place in rows on a design wall and arrange until you like the look and feel of the layout. Then take off only the pieces needed, sew them together, and place back up on the wall. Rows are assembled with fussy cut teacups, rectangles, pink plaids, checks and florals, and flying geese units. Sew in rows, then join up the rows to complete the center. Once each row is assembled you’ll be surprised how quick and easy it is to complete the quilt center.

Use the same fabric to make the prairie points and stitch into the binding. One prairie point is used for each corner.
