Muted tones reduce the ‘orange’ of autumn projects creating a peaceful ambience. The color of the leaves reflect the harmony of the season. While this star quilt appears challenging, it’s easier than you think, with just a one page pattern for the quilt top. Even a simple pattern can look sumptuous with the right fabric. While it does take some extra effort to scallop the quilt edge, the end result is always a wonderful finishing touch. Lisa from Celebrate Creativity uses a scallop template and simply cuts along the marked line.

Lisa suggests using continuous binding cut on the bias of the fabric giving the binding a crucial flexibility which is needed to curve over the scalloped edge of the quilt easily. There are easy instructions to make your own bias binding here. The scalloped border and binding make it extra special.
