Handmade With Love A Sweet Heart Quilt

Use A Single Heart Quilt Block And Repeat.

Infuse shades of red into this delightful hearts quilt, made for any occasion and especially for a little extra Valentines decor.

Pair this star quilt block with a heart shaped center. Using fabric scraps of pink, white and red prints create a whirl of hearts flowing through the quilt, framed in crisp white sashing. This pretty quilt was made using just one block from a quilt pattern. The star block was simply repeated to make a throw quilt.

Quilt blocks can be used to take your creativity to dizzy heights, the blocks so appealing that using just one is enough to create the perfect project. For this quilt Chelsi Stratton chose one block from Thimbleblossoms quilt pattern ‘Handmade With Love’, and stitched each block using a random mix of prints just right for a heart quilt. Use a quilt block you may already have and get started right away on your next Valentines project.

Using 16 blocks Chelsi made a throw for her daughter which no doubt will be treasured for years to come. Suitable for any age and any decor, this quilt of hearts would be the perfect addition to your Valentines projects. Draped over the sofa, or a chair in the bedroom, the quilt can be used long after the month of February. Get together all the pink, red and white from your scrap basket, even pieces with aqua in the print is quite effective. In no time 16 blocks are ready for construction. Add more blocks to increase the size.

The heart block quilt block can be found in Thimbleberries quilt pattern ‘Handmade With Love’ and is available for purchase.
