Pinwheel Stars Placemats and Candy Binding For Your Christmas Table

Bright Pinwheel Stars Christmas Placemats And Table Runner To Match.

Pinwheel stars are perfect for almost any Christmas project. These placemats have a mix of a star block and a pinwheel.  A pinwheel right in the middle of the star block, now known as the star block! Cute! A great combination of Hot Cocoa fabric used for the sides of these placemats. The hot cocoa fabric is just perfect for any table setting! Then there’s a mix of green stars and red pinwheel, and the opposite for the next placemat. All in all it works beautifully. The placemats look bright and inviting, yet soft too.

If you’re not familier with the pinwheel star block there’s a simple easy tutorial to follow. It’s plain sailing from there.

The pattern tutorial is from 2013, and Kate Spain Hot Cocoa fabric may not be readily available. There are heaps of fabrics suitable for placemat settings. The stars are a mix of red and green fabric, some of which might be sitting your stash right this minute! Or else, what fun to go out and match up a little fabric for these placemats and table runner.

Each placemat top requires 12 1/2″ star block and two sides measuring 3 1/2″ x 12 1/2″  of panel fabric. Thermolan for heat protection.

Julie from the Crafty Quilter and designer of these placemats uses Thermolam for the batting for placemats and table runners. It’s nice and firm and is great heat protection.

Then on to the pinwheel star table runner. The Ho Ho Ho Let It Snow fabric is just gorgous. if not available something similar would be equally as nice. Anything bright and whimsical is perfect for the Christmas theme.
