A Scrappy Easter Egg Table Runner For Your Easter Holiday Table.
A table runner with colorful scrappy eggs, a quick afternoon project that will even leave you with time to make one for family and friends. The busy springtime happy colors will brighten anyones day.
Take the brightest and most colorful scraps in your basket to make the strips for the eggs. No reason to wait till Easter for a spring atmosphere in your home. Lilac and cream provide a soft background for the eggs. For the eggs, shades of pink, lime, a light aqua and tiny pink polka dots create a festive tone. Add some yellow too.
A super easy technique to use other than applique is to sew the strips together, then place the stripey eggs behind the background fabric using a freezer paper template. Stitch into place. Meander the background to softly ‘nestle’ the eggs.
Why not use a single block with one egg to make a couple of mug rugs and add a coffee mug with a bunny for a gift. A runner with a candy dish of treats would look lovely on your table and also make a special Easter gift.
Peta Peace from She Quilts A Lot designed this quaint Easter runner. It’s easy to make in an afternoon.
