Easily Pretty Up Pillow Cases With A Row of Hexagons

Add a border to pillow cases stitching hexagons to the cuff, and freshen up the bedroom, or guest bed, with some pretty new pillowcases. Mix and match your favorite prints with plain color sheets to make a colorful range of bed linen.

 

Using pretty florals, ginghams, and polka dots in soft pastel shades to make 22 Hexies,which are hand stitched to the cuff of the pillow case. They look great made in fabrics from the Vintage Modern themed fabrics.

This is a fun scrap buster project and makes a pretty pillowcase to top a pretty quilt. They’re a quick addition, and you can make up a stack of these hexie pillowcases to give as Holiday gifts.

Use new pillow cases on hand, or sew some up following the steps shown in this Pretty Pillowcase tutorial. Put scraps together, choosing a pretty combination for the hexies, choose the cuff background, pink polka dot fabric is always nice, together with a strip of gingham for the edge.

The pillowcase pattern, sized at 28 1/2 x 18 1/2 inch, is designed by Lisa and Sarah of A Spoonful of Sugar, and is just right to add the hexie cuff, or you can easily adjust the number of hexies to fit.
