Holiday Wishes Gingham Stars Use Any Seasonal Fabric
Gingham Stars For An Endless Holiday Quilt.
Translate this delightful Christmas quilt into a Halloween using Spooky Delights, or any fun scary fabric. Black cats on bright orange, pumpkins and mice, along with some hooty night owls, dots and grizzly grey stripes, changes the quilt into delightfully haunted.
Red and Green feature the huge 18″ stars for Christmas, take on a scrumptious Halloween theme, with black cat and trick-or-treat prints scattered through the 25 patch centers. Construct the half square triangles with white and a colorful scary print to define the stars.
Greg Jones from Grey Dogwood Studios used the smaller prints for the gingham center, and larger prints for the stars for his Gingham Stars quilt. There’s no mistaking those black cats for the ‘scariest’ night. Sherri Falls, author of Holiday Wishes, has provided a lot of construction diagrams, and even using arrows to indicate which direction to press seams Greg says.
The pattern indicates yardage, a fat quarter bundle provides playful coordinates, and there is plenty left over for another project. More blocks make the quilt bigger. The 18″ star blocks can be used to make pillow. Use holiday fabric for the prettiest Christmas Gingham Star quilt.
Holiday Wishes by Sherri Falls is 80 pages of 12 cozy Christmas projects, including the Gingham Stars pattern.
