This dramatic quilt is delightfully fast and easy and great for beginners. Flying Geese units are fun and fast, with no bias edges, no trimming and no waste!

 

 

No-waste flying geese will give you four identical geese of the same size. Super quick since marking and stitching are kept to a minimum. Choose dark and light contrasts to frame a feature print, displays change dramatically with different fabric combinations. Blocks are traditionally pieced so it’s a terrific way if you don’t like paper piecing

For the center choose your favorite prints and/or embroidery designs, and photo transfers also work great. This quilt is totally fabric play, swapping out the four patch for a 9 1/2′ solid block without losing the star. The top is quick to construct and while sewing the first row of blocks, a secondary pattern emerges!
