A Scrapbuster Quilt Block For Eye Catching Quilts

Contrasting Fabrics Create A Striking Result

A fun little block that can be used in almost any project, and could easily become a feature in the room. Designed to gobble up scraps, the colorful combination becomes clean and crisp with a Kona Charcoal solid.

Make a throw for the sofa, the dark grey accent goes with almost anything. Choose a color that will bring out pretty colors and feature prints in the scraps. The solid can be used as an anchor color to match decor. For a softer effect use white, or soft pastels.

‘Scrapbuster’ blocks will look great in a table runner. While still using left overs, choose scraps that go together well, and alternate with another block of your choice. It’s a creative way to use bright, bold prints, and use up small pieces. The most important aspects are to have an accurate 1/4″ seam allowance, and iron and measure between each row.

Corey Yoda of Coriander Quilts created ‘Scrapbuster 2’ block to be used by itself or in conjunction with her original Scrapbuster Block. Similar in design, however Corey mentions, even though the sashings are different, they would make a great quilt together. A delightful block using 1 1/2″ squares.
