Celebrate Springtime With Patchwork Peter Rabbit
Make Your Own Patchwork Rabbit Before Easter
A mini charm pack, and a some scraps for the tulips will make this adorable rabbit mini quilt. A simple project that anyone with a little applique experience could do. The piecing is very easy and quick.
Shades of petal pink, green, and sky blue, a reminder that Spring is just around the corner. Patchwork bunnies are too much cuteness to handle, the quaint wall hanging can be displayed at the start of Spring with appliqued tulips already in bloom.
The ultimate combination of patchwork and applique. While needing more than a fat quarter for the backing, the addition of fabric scraps pieced together make up the size. A Springtime rabbit wall hanging wouldn’t be complete with a label, which can be stitched to the corner before adding the binding. Edged with a small piece of left over rick rac! Use a Pigma Pen to write the message.
The designer, Julie Cefalu of The Crafty Quilter, quilted swirls and rosettes around the rabbit applique, and used a “seed” stencil along the border to complete the charming garden scene. Add a hanging sleeve using the easy instructions here.
The finished size is 18 1/2″ x 20 1/2″
