Make Your Own Iron Caddy Custom Fit Even For A Steamfast Mini

Quilted Caddy For Irons For Retreats, Quilting Excursions And Weekends Away.

This iron caddy design is fantastic! The turtorial not only shows you how to make an iron caddy, but also a super easy way to make it exactly the size of your iron, even right down to the size of one of those Steamfast mini irons! Make a couple of these. One for home, and one for your travel iron or mini iron. Has a handle too for easy carry. A friend would love one. A great gift for a quilter going on a quilting course for the day. These caddy’s make lovely gifts!

Fabric scraps are just perfect for these caddy’s. The largest piece of fabric is for the base of the iron carrier and the lining. Go scrappy for the body and top. Sew squares, rectangles or strips together. Then cut out the desired shape. Create the size by placing your iron onto a piece of paper and draw a perimeter around the base of the iron.

The size of the perimeter equals the size of the body. The caddy will cost next to nothing to make. The only cost will be for the zipper.

The small caddy made for one of those Steamfast mini irons is so sweet. Make your iron cover in any fabric. Use all sorts of cute prints, stripes and zig zags for a modern kitchen, or small florals for a vintage theme. Once the iron is in the bag there’s still some room for a small cloth, mini spray starch or anything else you would like to drop in.

We’ve all been to classes, or sewing group meetings and are stuck with the issue of the iron. When you take out your iron caddy, everyone will want one. Easily make one on a home sewing machine. Ok packed, ready to go.
