Stitch Up A pretty Little Jeans Hot Pad
Add A Flower For Some Color In The Kitchen.
A fun and simple project that anyone can make, and a great way to reuse an old pair of jeans that has seen better days! You can even make these fun hot pads as a gift for a new neighbor or a fellow coworker. Jeans pot holders are durable, look great and are useful too.
You may have a pair of jeans that are still great but have an unsightly hole. ‘Unfixable’ means unwearable. Why not make good use of the denim. The fabric is hard wearing making it suitable for barbeques.
For the insulation layer, use two layers of thick wool batting cut to equal squares, or use several layers of denim squares cut from the jean legs. Insul brite ensures that your pot holder is protecting surfaces, and you can be sure your hands are protected too.
Fabric scraps in bright orange polka dot make the prettiest posy and works well with the blue denim. Yellow or red would also look great. Bright colors for the binding are just right against the plain blue of the denim. Almost anything looks great against denim fabric, a versatile project.
Easy to make even beginners will love this project. The hot pad is a finished size of 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
