Ruby Floral Mini Quilt To Frame Your Favorite Flower

Mini Charm Topper With A Center Frame To Put A Favorite Flower On Display.

If you love charm square projects, this quaint mini quilt has a neat design to put a half square triangle at the corners of the center to create a frame. Applique a flower, or fussy cut a butterfly, or anything else that you would like to frame.

This mini quilt is 12″ square, a quick Saturday afternoon project to use for summer or any season of the year. Use Moda’s Ruby charm pack, or any fabric you might have on hand, to make the perfect frame for a red wild flower. Charms are cut into 2 1/2″ squares and then half square triangles are used in the corners of the frame to create the shape. A simple applique stitch for the stems, petals and leaves complete the pretty flower display

Make a couple of these minis and use any color flower. Use mini charms or cut 2 1/2″ squares from any fabric. A few scraps to make tattered flowers and contrasting embroidery thread creates a dreamy country feel. Easily make the mini larger by using charm squares for the same design.

Use 30’s reproduction fabric. If you don’t applique, use a floral print for the center piece. Cut 28 x 2 1/2″ squares for one block. Make three blocks for a pretty floral table runner. Connie from Quilting by the River put the blocks together with the idea of making a runner or a darling baby quilt.
