Radiant Quilt Create A Striking Illusion

Use Left Overs And Accent Fabric From Your Stash.

A gorgeous quilt using just one, two or three simple repeated shapes could become your most stunning project. Use color, value and contrast to create a radiating and shimmering effect.

The Radiant quilt, designed by Daniela Stout from Cozy Quilts, is just two simple blocks cut on the diagonal. Any fat quarter collection looks wonderful and radiant in this simple, but appealing design. Make 2 different blocks and then combine the two creating a third. You’ll just need a light and a dark accent, and some additional prints.

Colour, value and contrast working together to create the illusion of depth and light is so exciting. Using two accent fabrics with strong contrasts make the blocks distinct and create the illusion of a luminescent quilt. Start by choosing two accents in any color of your choice. The deep royal blue is so vibrant.

For the dazzling feature quilt, Ginny Flock , a Craftsy member, used royal blue, and the second accent is off-white. Using left overs in her stash, Ginny used two similar blues for the accent, couple different solid, a couple batiks, and an ombre was used both in light and dark sections. It makes the quilt so interesting!

There are numerous sizes available to make the Radiant quilt, from baby through king. Fat quarter friendly, although yardage can also be used if desired, in place of the fat quarters. If making the twin and you have a bundle of 14 fat quarters, add 1/4 yard of coordinating fabric to make 15 fat quarters. The  41 1/2″ x 50″  baby quilt or 62 x 71″ throw would make a mesmerizing wall hanging.
