Turn A Swoon Block Into A Table Topper
Use A Swoon Block For A Delighful Table Topper
The Swoon block comes from the pattern called Swoon. Each block finishes at 24″, so it’s a really large square that can be used in many ways. Use the block to make the center of a medallion quilt, a wall hanging or a table topper.
Start with a 24″ quilt block. To make the swoon block take a look at the pattern here.
Here is an overview of the supplies you’ll need:
- 24″ quilt block
- 1/4 yard (or fat quarter) fabric for the side triangles
- 3/4 yard fabric for the backing
- 1/4 yard fabric for the binding
Then you’ll be cutting (2) 9 1/4″ squares for the side triangles. Cut each square in half diagonally to make four side triangles.
This table topper is quite unique with it’s mixture of a swoon block and the base added simply using four triangles. The fabric is so complimentary. A quick easy Saturday afternoon project. This table topper was given as a gift and went straight onto the table where it was secretly made for!
Start by making the swoon block.
Then add the triangles as shown.
Quilt and bind… very nice.
Made a lovely gift for a very special Mom.
