Beautiful Sweetwater Quilt In Black and Cream Florals.

Black and white quilts are always striking, but I always love black and cream and especially when used with florals. This lovely quilt using the Mama Said Sew fabric collection creates a ‘click’ of color that can only happern with black and cream. Black and white for a more modern feel, black and cream quilts have a softer country feel. Great color way balance since cream is the dominating color that totally softens the black. A two color quilt offers so many choices though and this design would be incredibly effective in any color scheme, and your choice of more than just two colors. In the case of this black and cream quilt, the black print gives the impression of there being three colors going on.

 

If choosing black and cream, be sure the black floral print is black and ‘cream’ and not black and white as it would flattern the print totally. The best way is to put the two fabrics together to get an exact match. Sweetwater suggest their Mama Said Sew collection for this design, using the Mama Said Sew cream, black print fabric, and also the backing from the same collection. That way the colors will be a perfect match and the quilt just gleams!
