If you love the traditional nine patch, give this double nine patch a try. Made up of 5 small nine patches sewn together to make a unique block. Traditionally pieced, the blocks are just gorgeous.
Use any amount of blocks to make the quilt size of your choice. It’s an easy two color quilt, where you can simply choose the fabric, and color for the season! Blocks are easy to construct, strip piecing fabric and sub cutting to 1 1/2″, it’s super quick. At first glance the quilt blocks appears to be on point. They’re simply sewn together creating a stunning traditional design.
Red and white prints from Sweetwater’s fabric collection ‘Sweet Tea’ was used for the feature quilt.
While white for the background seems an obvious choice, the sweet nine patches can be made from scraps left over from a project that will render different prints in the same color. It’s a terrific scrap buster, making any size from a table topper, to a throw. There is a pattern available for purchase to make four finished quilts sizes from crib to Queen size.
