A Fun Star Quilt Block For So Many Projects

Whether you are sewing up a single block or constructing a whole quilt, this Blue North star block offers plenty of inspiration. A group of four stars makes a 12″ block, and can be traditionally pieced using templates, or for accuracy, the foundation paper pieced method using freezer paper, can also be used.
The break down of this block couldn’t be easier, yet the effect looks really intricate with a curved effect. It’s relatively straight forward to piece, and you could sew it up in just two or three different fabrics to simplify the foundation piecing.
Sewing white backgrounds for half of the stars and printed backgrounds for the other stars, you can see how the blocks feature a great deal of movement.
It’s fun to play with, the striking star blocks set on point are incorporated with a Diamond in The Square to make a finished 12″ block that can be used for any season quilting projects. You can make your own colour selection, however using two values for your fabrics, a secondary pattern emerges!
The free block pattern, designed by Celeste of Daydreams Of Quilts, provides cutting and piecing instructions to make a block 12″ finished size. Use an assortment of fabric scraps and each star block can represent its own color scheme.
