Christmas Hot Pads Christmas Cheer Mini’s
These cheery hot pads are sure to brighten the kitchen table adding a warm Christmas cheer. There comes a time when you just want to quickly add an easy extra. So simple to make, even using reds and greens in fabric scraps. Gold fabric for the binding adds a great finishing touch.
To make these little Christmas hot pads simply follow these easy steps from Rebbecca at Chasing Cottons.
To start with make four blocks 8.5″ x 8.5″. These are cute. One with half square triangles, the next log cabin. Any style looks great.
Lay the backing fabric down with fabric wrong side up. Then place a thin layer of batting on top. Add a layer of thermal batting. Next, lay the block on top of the batting with fabric right side up. Smooth out any creases and even up all sides, then pin to keep everything in place.
For these hot pads, two are free motion quilted to create a design.
The other two are quilted 1/4″ off seam line.
To bind the hot pads, simply sew the binding on one side and hand stitch the other side into place. Or else make the potholders without binding. See potholders without binding here.
Then make the loop. Ribbon looks great.
