Exciting New Patchwork Elephant and Matching Baby Quilt

Even For Quilters new To Sewing Toys
The baby quilt is fun to make, you’re almost sorry it’s over. However you needn’t stop at making the quilt. Stitch up this colorful patchwork elephant to match, using up the left over scraps. New Moms will love the combo for the nursery!

It’s an opportunity to use up fabric scraps or charm squares while experimenting with color and texture. Jelly strips or 2 1/2″ strips from colorful scraps make up this quick quilt. If using yardage, use leftover fabric for the elephant, or match up fabric with mini charms. This sweet set is bound to become a keepsake for your little one.

Once the patchwork is assembled, cut to the elephant templates and stitched together with gentle curves and matching ears. All that is needed for the ellie are 80 x 2 1/2 inch squares of colorful prints, ribbing or cording for the tail, black embroidery for the eyes and about 11 ounces of fibre fill for the stuffing. The elephant is 12″ x 9″.

This adorable pattern which includes the elephant and quilt, is available for purchase. There is also an option to purchase a kit available here.
