Patchwork Party Wild Rose Cottage Has A Hidden Gem

Wild Rose Cottage Quilt, Patchwork Party, Has A Special Quilted Touch

There are some quilts that you love when you first cast your eyes on them. And there are some quilts that make you gasp. Wild Rose Cottage Quilt, does just that. This beautiful quilt pattern is not available for purchase at all. Wild Rose Cottage was made up from patchwork party quilt blocks. This quilt is so unique and so beautiful, that you need a while to catch your breath. Then, simply enjoy each and every little detail.

Patchwork Parties are annual block parties where 12 online shops each make a quilt block from Marti Mitchell templates, and one of her fabric collections. Then each shop creates an individual finishing pattern.
This quilt is a rendition of a 2010 Patchwork Party. The finishing kit was from Suzanne’s Quilt Shop, in Moultrie, GA.

Wild Rose Cottage was done by Lynette from What A Hoot Quilts. The pattern was a Shop Hop project where you got a block at each shop. So the quilt pattern is not a kit you can buy from one place.

The quilting was done by Kathy Schwartz at Tamarack Shack. So beautifully quilted. Lynette asked for moderately spaced quilting, and Kathy mentioned that she thought she had achieved that balance with just enough detail to give the quilt texture with some interesting elements. Lynette and Kathy decided on a meandering vine design, so Kathy did loops and a tiny flower which matches the print on the green fabric.

Kathy did the bead board design in the outer border in a medium green thread. Swirls in the sky just perfect.

As a personal touch, Kathy added a dog in the grass. It’s like a hidden gem. The dog is just adorable! Of course the dog is my favorite detail!
