Scrappy Spring Bloom With Floating Flowers

Use Scraps For The Flowers.

This quilt of Spring fresh blooms is like early morning due. So fresh and invigorating, it feels like a Saturday morning and you know there’s plenty of time for quilting.

The blooms are made totally from scraps. Each bloom requires four 4″ squares. A huge scrap buster for a morning in Sring! For the petals use different prints of one color creating a realistic dimension. Using the same fabric for the background, the blooms appear to float.

Make a few more and decide whether to set them in a straight set or on point, with or without sashing. Just play and have fun with your Spring Blooms. A variety of neutral scraps for the setting triangles could be used for the background, shades of light blue for a soft light, or a pale yellow batik for golden sunshine.

The easy blocks deigned by Canuck Quilter, are versatile and can be used in any quilting project. A pretty throw over the sofa for the new season decor, the blooms can be sewn together in clusters without sashing creating a totally different pattern, and would make a striking table topper.
