Scraps Make A Beautiful Quilt

Make a colorful scrappy quilt using white to define the design. Any scraps and even strings will work, putting a bag of fabric together to make a striking quilt.

 

 

 

This amazing quilt is constructed entirely with scraps. You can use a paper foundation template, or if a little more experienced, you can make it without. The quilt is made up of simple string piecing. Imagine how much fun it is stitching random scraps together and watching a beautiful quilt block emerge.

The designer, Izy of Izy Sew Buzy Creations, constructed this quilt entirely from scraps together with a white sheet. It’s a nice size quilt that will take a lot of left pieces of fabric, even the smallest.

It’s amazing how when putting different fabrics together, a pattern or color pops out that you never saw before. For this quilt, use various cotton scraps, or choose a variety of fat quarters. Pretty colors pop when using white, or choose a contrasting color for the background when putting your own color combination together.

The quilt is not as difficult as it seems. The pattern is rated beginner level, and takes you step by step to completion. All that is needed is fabric scraps and an accurate 1/4″ seam sewing! The pattern is available for purchase to make a quilt that measures a finished size of 74″ square.
