Trouble In The Window Cats And Sweet Birds It’s Springtime
Birds And A Cat Is A Delightful Window Scene.
Trouble the cat, sits on the windowsill in the warm spring sunshine and watches sweet blue birds preparing for Spring. This pretty wall hanging with floral buds on the tree will warm your heart.
Patchwork and strip quilting make up the garden scene, with the clever use of a floral strip in between for scattered country flowers! You’ll be needing a fat quarter in blue for the sky. For the birds, just a few scraps of blue peach and white. The patchwork tree and branches is made up of 5 or 6 assorted browns, strip pieced and cut to shape. Alternatively one fat quarter of check fabric.
Choose a mottled black for the cat, it’s so realistic of a cats soft coat. The quaint scene is made up using fused and machine-stitched applique. Embellish the branches with beads for the buds.
The pattern features patchwork and strip quilting, but alternatives are suggested for those who don’t feel so inclined. Fused and machine-stitched applique is used, and you can even personalize it thread painting for embellishment. The quilt is pre-cut friendly, but also perfect for scraps and left over strips.
Finished size is 23″ x 27″ a quaint wall hanging for Spring.
