Pixie Noel Whimsical Christmas Pillow For Holiday Fun

Christmas Pillows To Brighten Your Living Room, Kitchen And Guest Bed.

This patchwork pillow is the perfect project for fussy cutting the happy little characters and prints in Pixie Noel! Take a trip to an antique store for vintage crocheted trim, or keep an eye out at thrift stores. Button embellishments are fun to play with, and to add a dimensional touch.

The patchwork panel for the pillow front is made up using 24 x 2 1/2″ squares. To get started lay out your Pixie Noel fabrics. For the 2 1/2″ squares, fussy cut the kissing bunnies in scarves, a deer with a sleighbell, Pixie on his toboggan, and continue to choose your favorites, cutting a total of 24 x 2 1/2″ squares. Find vintage style crochet trim, or crochet your own onto the edge of a piece of solid white. Add one or two button embellishments to the pixie hat, atop the tree, or anywhere your creativity leads you. A piece of fusible Pellon ironed to the back of the patchwork provides a crisp stability.

The whimsical pillow is constructed with a simple envelope back closure and quilt style binding in gingham red, the perfect complement to the playful pixie prints.

This adorable Pixie Noel pillow, started as a romantic patchwork pillow. Loops of vintage crocheted trim still attached to a band of white linen that may have come off a pretty pillowcase, was the start of Taunja of Carried Away Quilting’s inspirational idea to incorporate vintage trims into modern pillow covers. Sweet pastel prints for this romantic patchwork pillow turned out so pretty, with silver buttons from Grandma’s jar.

The tutorial is for the pillow made in romantic florals. Make both and use the Pixie Noel cover for Christmas. After the festivities, put Pixie Noel away till next year, and replace with it a dreamy floral pillow.
