A Vintage Daisy Quilt That Radiates Charm

Display Favorite Fabrics In The Petals.
For both beginners and experienced quilters looking to play with color and form, this Daisy quilt can be as delicate or as vibrant as your fabric choices allow.

Creating a Vintage Daisy Quilt begins with cutting petal-shaped pieces from your favorite fabrics, along with round centers and background squares. Each daisy is built block by block by appliquéing petals onto a background square. After assembling the blocks, you can arrange them in rows or scatter them for a more whimsical layout.
The pattern, put together by Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Co., came about when Jenny found a box of darling old Daisy quilt blocks. The quilt is made with the Orange Peel template and offers endless creative possibilities, from soft heirloom quilts to bright, cheerful throws. It’s perfect for using up fabric scraps or for showcasing treasured prints you’ve been saving. Each finished quilt feels like a garden in fabric.
Jenny experimented sewing some of the petals overlapping, just like the original vintage quilt blocks in the box. Its interesting to see how the darker petals were placed behind the lighter ones, each variation providing a different dimension.
Jenny provides a step by step video to make the appliqued petals, using a Orange Peel Template for 5″ Charm Packs, and arranging the petals on background square for the nicest Daisy design.
