Whether flannel or cotton, shirts make the most thrifty and even some of the smartest quilts around.

Only seven mens shirts are needed to make this nice sized throw. The tutorial by Nancy-Rose at Life Is A Stitch covers sorting the shirt colors into 2 lights and 5 darks. A very easy beginning. They should be 100% cotton and a similar weight. For best results for this design the shirts shouldn’t be to worn. It would help if the fabric is reasonably firm, and feel a bit like good quilting fabric.
The design is great. Cut strips from remaining sleeves for the binding. Notice how the collar labels are used in the inner border and piano border.
