A Kaleidoscope Of Butterfly Quilt Blocks
Celebrate Spring With A Beautiful Butterfly Quilt
A group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope and you can capture their beauty in a quilt block. Enjoy sewing up your butterflies and find inspiration.
Slight variations in the fabric are enough to create the wings. These little paper pieced blocks measure 5.5” after piecing and can be used as a 5” finished square or trimmed to 5” for a 4.5” finished square, making them perfect for mixing with 5” charms.
The paper pieced blocks are fun for a quilt swap too. Making just one is quilting therapy! These butterflies were made using the “True Colors” fabric line.
The designer, Nicole Young of Lilly Ella Stitchery has given each butterfly quilt block has a name. These three are called Cricket, Gidget & Pepper, the Butterfly Charm Blocks! The Gidget and Cricket patterns each have 8 sections, and Pepper has 6 sections. Specific assembly instructions for piecing the sections are included on each pattern.
The blocks can be added to any quilt project. Just one has become the focal point of this delightful sewing machine Organizer mat. Free pattern available from here.
The pretty butterfly quilt block is available as a free pattern, sure to provide hours of paper piecing fun.
