There doesn’t ever seem to been a time when Dresden plates weren’t popular. They’ve been around since the 1920’s where Dresden plates were made even from hankerchiefs’ and neckties, and scrappy used tablecloths, which were cut up and used to make beautiful Dresden plates and quilt blocks.
