How To Sew A Self Binding Placemat
Simple Beautiful Placemats To Sew Just Add Fabric
Get a head start on your Christmas sewing and quilting with this fun holiday project. All you need is two rectangles of fabric cut to the specified size and you will see they become self-binding with mitered corners.
The pattern requires two rectangles of fabric, the back fabric is larger to wrap around to the front to form a self binding.
Placemats sew up perfectly using fat quarters. Add stabilizer batting if desired, just be sure the size does not exceed the size of the front fabric.
For the Christmas table, feature Michael Millers Poinsettia fabric, rich and striking with a black and gold border.
A beginner-friendly self-binding technique that anyone can do. Adjust the length of the project and the self binding technique is great for baby wraps. Make it a little longer and use as a table runner. Skip binding table runners too.
