Brighten Up Any Nursery And You Can Size Up Too
If you’re brand new to quilting, this sweet jelly roll quilt will inspire you to try your first quilt. Just one jelly roll renders 2 baby quilts. After finishing the first one, there are enough jelly strips left over to make another! Use scrumptious colors, bright and fun for Spring or Summer, or favorites for any time of year. These cute crib quilts are delightful for new Moms, you’ll never be short when you need a gift in a hurry.
Crack open a jelly roll and select 18 strips to make the color combo that you would like. The colorful prints needn’t be too orderly, and the mix of florals and spots are delightfully scrappy.
Sewing together 3 sets 6 strips each sews up really quick, and before cutting into blocks Kimberely of The Fat Quarter Shop suggests using a little spray starch to keep the strip set crisp. Each strip set will render 6 blocks!
One jelly roll makes two delightful 36 1/2″ x 36 1/2′ baby/crib quilts. You would need 3 Jelly Rolls to make a twin, and 4 Jelly Rolls to make a queen size quilt using Kimberley’s pattern here.
