Who’s Who In This Pretty Four Patch

Use Any Co-Ordinating Fabrics

This pretty quilt offers a square in the center of a star which is large enough to feature a favorite print. A beginner friendly wall quilt with a lot of creative play, and room to focus on a delightful fabric!

The quilt is easy to construct, made up of half and quarter square triangles. Have some fun with the mix of blocks that grow into one huge block, starting with smart color placement for the flying geese. Four, four patch blocks coordinated with the background fabric ‘floats’ the star!

Add a surround of 4 patches on point, all of the fun is in the center. A co-ordinated group of fabrics make the design shine, you can choose any feature print for the center, a large flower motif, or a beautiful bird.

The quilt, designed by Connie Kresin of Free Motion By The River is a finished size of 38″ x 38″ and would make a beautiful baby quilt. Included in Connie’s free tutorial is a color diagram to follow using similar fabrics. It’s inspiring to see how simple the design is, yet the result is striking simply using creative fabric placement and color.
