Scrappy House Ornaments Don’t Take Long To Make.
I love these cute little fabric house ornaments. They’re so easy anyone can make up a batch. Bright and colorful, they have a hanger and could be used as a Christmas ornament or a gift for anytime of the year. Make a set and by using different prints of fabric scraps, each house looks totally different, just like everyone’s house in the street. They all look so welcoming!
Any bits of fabric will do. If making as a set to put on display, use a neutral linen/cotton blend, or cotton quilter’s linen for the house front. A neutral background makes the scenic front more lively. I love the cute bird, and that one with the cat in the window! You can have so much fun making these. Use fabric with numbers, or fabric selvage for the house number, and if making as a quilty gift, that tape measure print is perfect for the chimney!
Easily applique the window, door and house number by using Wonder Under, and for the sweetest finishes, embellish with miniature pom pom, ric rac, or any bits of trim you might find in your sewing trinkets. Hang your ornament on a tree, doorknob, wall or stocking hook.
