A Scrappy Faceted Friendship Star Would Be Great In Any Color
Use Left Over Jelly Strips.
Make an edgy wall hanging or a fun baby quilt using this faceted star. The star is made up using half square triangles and then pair with a solid to make another set of half square triangles. Color play creates the star formation.
The main body of the star is made with 2 1/2″ half square triangles that sew up quick. 96 hst’s are stitched up in no time and used to make a nine patch. To create the facet make sure each Hst diagonal is facing the same direction when constructing the nine patch.
Once all blocks are completed position them to capture design. It’s a fun quilt top to construct and the color play is intensely creative. The flying geese border can be made as an accent, or use the same fabrics as the star.
A modern design that has no fabric limits. Scraps add interest to the star. Batik fabric for the background creates an extra dimension, however we think the star would look amazing using a crisp white background. For a wall quilt a black background would be striking.
