Fat quarter friendly, using a combination of three fabrics to make up the body, pocket and backing with minimal fabric waste. Swap out prints for the pocket to make a complimentary set. Find fabrics to add to the combination, then finish both potholders with matching binding.

 

 

Pair with cooking or baking utensils, which you can slide into the pocket, for gifts. Use strips from left over fabric to sew into a kitchen towel and make a set. Fabric used for the feature pot holders is Heidi Staples Shortcake, or choose any fun fabric.

@ ZerianoTo get the template for the pot holder, as well as the gift tags, sign up for Melissa’s mailing list. To make up your own round template draw an 8″ diameter circle, plus another to cut out the shape for the pocket. A 6 inch template would work just as nicely for the second pot holder to make a set of one small and one large.
