Nine Patch Pivot Fat Quarters Favorite

Sewing With Christmas Fabric Is So Cozy In Winter.

The pattern calls for 21 fat quarters to create the quilt’s 42 blocks. Each print is represented in the quilt twice, in the dominant block pieces, and numerous times in the 9-patches. The beautiful fabrics shine as each block unfolds.

 

Sews up stripsets, which are strategically pressed so that you can nest seams for perfect nine-patch blocks. And then the 9-patch with it’s sashing “floats” within the larger square, so you don’t have to be as concerned with those corners. Joining of the four outside block pieces do not meet in the 1/4 inch seam so the blocks rests more than 1/4” from all four sides.

Putting holiday prints on show in the nine patch, and setting the background fabric, blocks stack up and the top comes together in no time. Fabric used for this holiday quilt is Christmas Eve collection by Lella Boutique.
