If you’re wanting to try something a little different for your next table topper this layout creates a flow of color using a braid ending in diamonds. A pumpkin embellishment is evocative of the season, but the centre braid provides a frame for any embellishment you choose for the middle.  The design can be used without any motifs and can be used for any season to put on display all year long.

 

Use jelly strips and charm squares for almost the entire project using any motif of your choice. The design will be wonderful in your favorite seasonal colors, or any colors you choose. Basic piecing and color co-ordination with a little simple applique can produce eye catching results. The braid is simple to construct using 2 1/2 inch strips and a simple border in charm squares of the same fabric line provides a quick and complimentary finish. Or choose a coordinating fabric from your stash and create your own combination.

The topper looks detailed and time consuming but you’ll be surprised how quickly it comes together.
