Multi pieced wings in a 17″ block, these butterflies are irresistible. You can make each butterfly from a different fabric, and put together the most exciting combinations. It perfect for your favorite fabric collection or mix and match prints!

Beautiful in soft subtle hues, or vibrant lime, fuscia and orange! Huge blocks provide lush wings to display fabric. The butterfly is also available in a mini quilt, finished size 11 1/2″ x 11 1/2″. The wings are sufficient to capture texture and vibrancy. Display on the wall, or a table mat.

Amy of EAmy Love chose to display the butterfly on a quilt stand. You could opt to sew a single 17″ block from the quilt pattern if you would prefer to display a larger butterfly!

The butterfly is easy to piece using connector corners. In the video, designer, Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique shows how to construct the butterfly block, with tips on cutting for perfect piecing.

The finished quilt Social Butterfly measures 75″ x 75″. It would be easy to adjust to a twin since the blocks are a generous 17″. A pattern is available for purchase for the quilt, and also for the mini quilt.
