Cross And Crown Fat Quarter Friendly Modern and Traditional

These Quilt Blocks Are A Piecing Dream.

This charming design combines modern and traditional elements that complement nearly any decor. Retro prints are today’s modern, and using them in this Cross and Crown adds elements of traditional. Choose any fabric for these easy 9″ x 9″ pieced blocks.

The pattern is written for fat quarters repeating each print in 3 blocks. There’s a total of 56 blocks plus one block left over to use in another project such as a coordinated throw pillow!

19 fat quarters quilt pattern

You’ll be needing 19 fat quarters in assorted prints for the colorful blocks, red for the cornerstones, and a little over 5 yards of white for the sashing and background fabric. The pattern guides you through making the block corner units without marking any match points.

Designer Sandra Clemens shows the quilt in Denyse Schmidt’s retro prints from the Hadley collection, vintage inspired and so fresh for ‘Cross and Crown’. The quilt finishes at 73 1/2″ x 83 1/2″, the perfect size for a lap quilt with 56 blocks to display as a beautiful throw over the sofa.

Cross and Crown sews up a beautiful baby quilt consisting of just 12 Cross and Crown blocks. Use playful prints for the nursery, or choose vintage theme fabrics to create an heirloom. The baby quilt finished size is 33 1/2″ x 43 1/2″.
