Four Charm Packs And A Sunset Envelopes You In This Quilt
Four Charm Packs Sunset Quilt.
Soft pink borders surrounding five chain squares, and you’re enveloped in a sunset quilt! All it really took was four charm packs and a warm heart. It’s the way the fabric has been used, choosing the charm squares and arranging the fabric colors from light to dark. It’s not just the fabric choice, but the way you use it. This quilt truly has a sunset feel.
The tones are right, that’s what it is. Simply Sew Southern has used Moda’s Vintage Picnic charm pack. A sunset pink, borders five 5″ charm pack squares, sewn together to make a chain. The squares are arranged dark to light creating a movement of softness.
The finished size of this quilt is 62″ by 74″.
Choose 4 Charm Packs (Each Charm Pack will need at least 40 Prints)
From that you use 160 5″ x5″ fabric squares.
1 3/4 yards of 2 coordinating solid yardages each – one light and one dark, which will be used for the border.
To match Moda’s Vintage Picnic, pink and white was perfect.
Cut your sashing. You will need 24 – 2 1/2″ strips of both the light and the dark. When you are all done you should have 3 chains of 8 blocks across.
That’s the quilt top. Layer and bind. The binding is in green complimenting the pink beautifully.
