This fabric panel has been around for about 5 years. You just can’t shake his charm. Add a little whimsy to a simple mini charm wall hanging by adding Patchwork Pete for a warm welcome. The background fabric is made up totally of scraps providing the perfect landscape for a cheery face.
This panel is one of those that you cut out and put batting between, add a backing and then sew in all together. The instructions suggests using a wire hanger bent into shape to put the panel up on display. JBud from Quilting Board decided to make a patchwork background and applique the pumpkin to that. Make the background to the size you like using 2 1/2″ squares.
Cut out the cute face with the sunflower on his hat and applique to the patchwork quilt. Use free motion quilting for the squares and hand quilting for the pumpkin. Blanket stitch around the petals adds a little extra charm. Fabric panels like this Daisy Kingdom Harvest Happiness Pumpkin or this Happy Harvest Scarecrows and Pumpkins, are a great idea to make a patchwork pumpkin. Almost any Pumpkin fabric panel with these cute faces will do.
