A Two Toned Quilt Creates Movement And Interest
Showcase Your Favorite Shades.
This eye catching quilt features striking stars in two tones of the same color, creating bands of light across the quilt. Each star is made from two fabrics of the same color, but with a slight tonal variation or value, capturing the awe of the Aurora Borealis.
This creative quilt made easy using 10 fat quarters in colors of your choice, is suitable for beginners. Choose 5 colors, and add five of the same colors with a different value. Colors are easy to cordinate for the right effect, placed against a white background. Mix and match blues, greens and purples to capture the hue of the Aurora Borealis lights that race across the sky, or choose your favorite mix of colors and shades.
The stars are easy to piece and the quilt would be striking in almost any combination of colors and prints. Use a mix of Batiks and solids together in one star for additional movement of ‘light’. Huge blocks provide more choices for fabric display, and also provide quick construction. A great weekend project for the experienced quilter.
The finished quilt size is 53″ x 53″ perfect size for a picnic, lap, or throw quilt. Easily make the quilt larger by adding more stars.
