Mini Quilt Pattern – Make This Kitty In The Window
Make This Mini Quilt Pattern The Cutest Kitty In The Window.
If you love cat quilts, this kitty in the window mini quilt pattern just captured my heart. It’s easy to do, and certainly does not need a top quilting skill level. The quilt hanger is a great finish and makes extra special, even more so as a gift.
For fabrics you could easily use scraps, but this mini quilt pattern is about a kitty in the window. The fabric squares for the ‘window’ have foliage and flowers in the fabric pattern to give the illusion of the window looking out into the garden. It’s just adorable!
Use fusible web to keep the look crisp. Use interface on the backing especially as it makes the fabric firm and will display much better as a wall quilt.
For the fabrics you will need:
1 Quilt centre panel 20cm X 20cm
1 Awning/blind strip 20cm X 4cm
2 side border strips 20cm X 3cm
2 top & bottom strips 25cm X 3cm
1 quilt back to match the assembled quilt front.
A bit of lace
A black cat cut from felt fabric. I would applique the cat and put a little batting behind the cat to give the cat a fuller, quilted feel.
To get an idea of the lay out, lay the backing fabric down. Position the windows.
Place the borders…
Add the top of the window…
Position the kitty…
The video shows the kitty quilt being made into a wall hanger, but this mini quilt could also be a table topper.
There are a couple tips for the applique of the window edge, and how to add the wall hanger in this video. The free pattern and template download is below the video.
